Opportunity:

RN - MICU

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts with variable scheduling subject to change with two-week notice from the facility
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Patient ratio of 1:2 on all shifts including days, nights, and weekends
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Float required to Adults ICUs, Adult Acute Care, and ED for boarding inpatients, as well as between Toledo, Flower, Bay Park, and Wildwood facilities as needed
• No block scheduling available
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted with prior Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience preferred
• Locals within 50-mile radius not accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Epic charting experience required
• Navy scrubs required
• Free parking available
• Care for adult patients with complex cardiovascular conditions including cardiac arrest, acute myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, pulmonary edema, cardiogenic shock, cardiac tamponade, and rhythm disturbances, as well as acute respiratory failure, renal failure, sepsis, and metabolic disturbances
• Perform CVP monitoring, target temperature management, PA/Swan-Ganz catheter management, CRRT, cardiac pacemaker management, IABP, and post-cath radial band management
• Initiate and titrate medications including vasopressors, cardiac medications, and sedation
• Assist with RSI, central line placement, and arterial line placement
• Administer blood products and perform femoral arterial/venous sheath removal
• Operate specialized equipment including Zoll/Arctic Sun for target temperature management, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, NxStage CRRT, Zoll Defibrillator, Alaris IV pumps, PA/Swan-Ganz catheters, and Pyxis Medication Dispenser
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and manage multi-system organ failure
• Perform arterial line management, PICC line management, and central line care
• Administer continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Provide care for ventilated patients including high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, and ETT/NT suctioning
• Maintain infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions with proper PPE use
