Operating Room RN Job in Alamogordo, NM

CHRISTUS Southern New Mexico is seeking an RN for the Operating Room in Alamogordo, NM. This is a full-time travel position running 91 days, beginning September 14, 2026.

Schedule and Pay

• 4 days per week, 10 hours per day
• $2,376 weekly

Role Responsibilities

You will provide direct nursing care to surgical patients across multiple specialties, including Orthopedic, General, Podiatry, GYN/OB (including C-Sections), Pain Management, Urology, and Endoscopy. Your responsibilities include:

• Apply and document the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Demonstrate proficiency and independence in patient and family care
• Consult with staff, physicians, and management regarding nursing concerns and policy interpretation
• Maintain clinical competency to ensure safe, direct patient care
• Communicate effectively with patients and colleagues of varying ages and backgrounds
• Follow the five rights of medication administration
• Advocate for patients and maintain confidentiality while including families in care decisions

Required Qualifications

• Active RN License in the state of New Mexico
• BLS (AHA only), ACLS (AHA only), PALS (AHA only), and Verbal CPI certifications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Basic computer knowledge

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty
