Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with options for day shift (6:30 AM to 6:30 PM) or night shift (6:30 PM to 6:30 AM)
• Every other weekend requirement with 2 out of 3 major holidays or every other holiday as needed
• Manager will create schedule based on unit needs
• 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• 34-bed Med Surg ICU unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1-2 for ICU, 1:4-5 for PCU, and 1:5-6 for Med Surg
• Treat adult and pediatric patients (ages 15+) with diagnoses including respiratory failure, ARDS, MODS, sepsis, stroke, cardiogenic shock, renal failure, GI bleeds, and cancer-specific surgeries
• Titrate drips including vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics
• Work with equipment including CVPs, A-lines, Swans, EV-1000, ICP monitoring, Zoll-Thermoguard for hypothermia protocol, and Bell Mont rapid transfuser
• Manage patients on nasal cannula through ventilators
• Read and interpret heart monitoring using Draeger system with centralized telemetry monitoring (no monitor techs on unit)
• Charge nurse present on each shift and will attend RRTs and Codes
• Nurse aides and patient care techs available at a 1:18 ratio
• Float to all inpatient units excluding Maternity/NICU as needed
• Scrub color requirement: Navy Blue
• 2 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation provided
• Charting system: EPIC
• Pass/fail open book exam during orientation requiring a minimum score of 90% to pass
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
• Must be located outside of 50-mile radius; driver's license required at submittal for verification
