About this role

Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit position in New Albany, IN. You will work 12-hour shifts on the 3rd shift schedule (6:30 PM to 7:00 AM) with every other weekend required. This is an 89-week travel assignment starting October 5, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,206.

Your Role

As an RN in the PCU, you will deliver patient-centered nursing care grounded in comprehensive assessment and individualized treatment planning. Your responsibilities include:

  • Perform thorough patient assessments within the RN scope of practice, considering patient culture, age, and developmental needs
  • Identify risk factors and collect objective and subjective data to develop prioritized care plans
  • Design and implement individualized interventions aligned with each patient's cultural background and age
  • Coordinate desired outcomes with patients and families in partnership with the medical plan of care
  • Communicate clearly with patients and families about procedures, treatments, and care processes
  • Monitor and respond promptly to changes in patient condition, documenting findings appropriately
  • Delegate tasks effectively and oversee team members in the delivery of patient care activities
  • Support the discharge process through discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management
  • Assess and address patient educational needs based on comprehension level
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI monitoring
  • Apply evidence-based practice and current research to guide clinical decisions
