PCU RN Job in Tucson, AZ

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 89-day travel assignment in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at BUMC Tucson. You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week, earning $2,582.10 weekly, with assignment start date July 13, 2026.

Role Overview

As a PCU RN, you will assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care in accordance with organizational policies and professional standards. You will conduct comprehensive patient assessments covering physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural needs and discharge planning. You will review patient histories, diagnostics, and laboratory data, reporting abnormal results to physicians and appropriate caregivers. Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, you will formulate and implement individualized care plans, delegate and supervise licensed and non-licensed team members, and evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching, revising plans as needed.

Assignment Details

You will float throughout two BUMC Tucson campuses, covering Adult Health units including Observation, Med-Surg, PCU, and IMC. The second campus is approximately 10 minutes from the primary location (1625 N Campbell Ave). You may also be floated to the ED or PACU to care for Adult Health patients with inpatient orders awaiting bed placement. Level I Trauma and large hospital experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner
• Participate in shared leadership, quality improvement initiatives, and education of facility personnel, patients, and families
• Frequently stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch; may lift up to 75 pounds

Requirements

• Current, valid RN license in Arizona
• Minimum one year acute care experience as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area, with experience within the past 12 months
• BLS certification required
• Bachelor's degree and professional certification preferred
