OR Registered Nurse Job in Martinsburg, WV

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room at WVU Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting October 19, 2026, with a weekly pay rate of $2,791.

Schedule and Expectations

• Work 5 days per week on evening shifts: 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM (8-hour shifts)
• One weeknight on-call shift per rotation (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• One weekend 24-hour on-call shift per month (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM)
• Weekend and holiday call rotations required as needed
• Call response time is 30 minutes; you must remain on-site if located more than 30 minutes away while on call
• Float to outpatient surgery as needed

Facility and Surgical Volume

The OR consists of 9 operating rooms, 1 procedure room, and 1 hybrid room. You will be part of a team handling an average of 35–45 cases per day. Common surgical specialties include general surgery, ENT, ophthalmology, orthopedics, robotics (Da Vinci and Rosa), neurosurgery, vascular, trauma, and pediatric dental and ENT cases.

Role Requirements

• Minimum 2–3 years of OR nursing experience required
• Minimum 2–3 previous travel assignments required
• Must have experience with all surgical specialties, particularly for evening and night shifts
• Orthopedic experience required
• Must be comfortable working as the only RN overnight with 2 surgical techs
• Experience passing instruments in and out for robotic surgery required
• Scrubbing experience is a plus but not required
• Epic electronic health record experience required

Orientation and Certifications

• 3-shift orientation period (1 week)
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA); PALS preferred
• BSN not required
• Scrubs provided for RNs and OR techs
• No self-scheduling for travelers; block scheduling available if it meets unit needs
