Respiratory Therapist - Registered Respiratory Therapist

Job Details:

• 18-week contract position
• Work 3x12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required, holidays as needed
• 12 weekend shifts required per contract
• 36 orientation hours included
• RRT or CRT accepted, Maryland license required at time of submittal
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, and Transport experience required
• Must have completed at least 1 travel assignment
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience required
• Charting system experience with Cerner
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Scrub color: Black
• Serve patients across age groups including neonates, adults, and geriatrics
• Perform respiratory therapy skills including aerosol treatments, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, mechanical ventilation management, intubation assist, arterial blood gas collection and interpretation, tracheostomy care, and patient transport
• Administer medications including albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Mucomyst, Pulmicort, racemic epinephrine, Xopenex, and other respiratory medications
• Manage patients with conditions including ARDS, respiratory distress syndrome, and pneumonia
• Perform weaning from mechanical ventilation and troubleshoot high pressure alarms
