About this role

MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 6, 2026. You will work 3x12 night shifts with every other weekend required and no on-call obligation.

Role Overview

You will float between adult and NICU units, providing comprehensive respiratory care including airway management, ventilator management, and pulmonary hygiene. Your responsibilities include:

  • Perform endotracheal intubation, extubation, and airway placement (nasal and oral)
  • Conduct suctioning, pulmonary hygiene, and tracheostomy care
  • Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and assist with high-risk deliveries
  • Manage mechanical ventilation on Draeger V500, Draeger VN500, and Servo U ventilators
  • Administer respiratory medications including Albuterol, Atrovent, and Combivent
  • Operate BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and nebulizers
  • Troubleshoot ventilator alarms and support weaning from mechanical ventilation
  • Document care in the Cerner charting system

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience as an RRT in adult critical care and NICU
  • 1 prior completed travel assignment
  • Current BLS, CRT, and RRT certifications
  • Maryland state respiratory therapy licensure
  • Flu vaccine (no exemptions)
  • Comfort with ABG collection and analysis

Preferred Qualifications

  • ACLS certification
  • Emergency department experience

Additional Information

You will receive 36 hours of orientation. Holiday coverage is expected for Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day. Scrubs are not provided; you must wear ceil blue scrubs. Weekly pay is $1,822.18.
