About this role

MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a 126-week travel assignment. You will work 4x12 night shifts with every other weekend required and holiday coverage expected. No on-call duties apply to this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform airway management including endotracheal intubation, extubation, nasal and oral airway placement, suctioning, pulmonary hygiene, sputum collection, and tracheostomy care
  • Administer and manage aerosolized medications including Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Pulmicort, Racemic Epinephrine, Spiriva, Terbutaline Sulfate, Tobramycin, and Xopenex
  • Set up and manage aerosol delivery devices including masks, trach collars, metered dose inhalers, nebulizers, and medihalers
  • Operate and troubleshoot high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), BiPAP, CPAP, and mechanical ventilators including Draeger V500, Draeger VN500, and Servo U
  • Wean patients from mechanical ventilation and troubleshoot high-pressure alarms
  • Draw and analyze arterial blood gases (ABGs) and umbilical blood gases
  • Assist in high-risk deliveries
  • Float between Adult and NICU units, caring for neonates, infants, adults, and geriatric patients
  • Chart in Cerner electronic health record system

Requirements:

  • 2 years of experience as an RRT in Adult Critical Care and NICU
  • Minimum of 1 prior travel assignment
  • Current BLS, CRT, RRT, and Maryland State License
  • Scrubs not provided; ceil blue scrub color required

Preferred qualifications:

  • ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
  • Bronchoscopy, inhaled Flolan, nitric oxide (INo), Mucomyst, Ketamine, Bicarbonate, and Theophylline experience
  • ED experience and community hospital experience
  • Trauma Level I and Level II experience

Weekly pay is $2,310. Assignment begins September 15, 2026.
