About this role
IU Health North Hospital is seeking a registered nurse for our Endoscopy department in Carmel, Indiana. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting September 15, 2026, offering a 4x10 day shift schedule at $2,426 per week.
Schedule & Staffing
- Block schedule: 4 consecutive days of choice, Monday through Friday, or Monday through Wednesday and Friday
- 4x10-hour shifts with 40 guaranteed hours per workweek
- No weekend shifts required; however, you must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- On-call requirements: one Monday through Thursday shift (5:00 PM – 5:30 AM) per week and one weekend shift (Friday 5:00 PM – Monday 5:30 AM) every 6 weeks, totaling 7 on-call shifts per 6-week period
- Patient ratio is 1:1 for all pre-, intra-, and post-procedural care
Clinical Details
- High-volume unit handling approximately 15 patient visits per day across 4 rooms
- Pediatric patients (0 months to 18 years) and adults; pediatric cases occur Monday through Thursday
- Procedures include Upper and Lower GI, Bronchoscopy, ERCP, EBUS, EUS, and Pain Management
- May float to PACU if needed to meet facility needs
Required Experience & Credentials
- Minimum 3 years endoscopy experience
- Pediatric endoscopy, Cerner charting, and bronchoscopy experience within the last 2 years
- ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
- Cerner charting system experience required; Provation preferred
Essential Skills
- Administering and monitoring conscious sedation
- Colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, EBUS, EUS
- Esophageal varices and banding
- Pediatric endoscopy
- Starting and maintaining IVs
- Specimen handling and labeling
- Scrubbing
