PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• 3x12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Weekend rotation required
• Holiday rotation required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Patient ratio experience required at 1:5 (PCU)
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam (2 attempts allowed)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Cardiac telemetry experience required
• Must demonstrate management and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Peripheral line care and management required
• PICC line management required
• Must be able to titrate drips
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Skills required include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care and management, chest tube management, CVA care, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, IV insulin protocols, vasoactive drip management, non-invasive airway management, PCA management, tracheostomy care, and wound care/wound vac
• Floating to other campuses required as needed
• High-level, high-functioning PCU with multiple long-term patients
• Unit is a 34-bed general medical progressive care unit with all telemetry-monitored beds
• Patient population includes stroke backup, renal disorders, sepsis, endocrine disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, and hematological disorders
• Adults-only patient population
• No local candidates within a 50-mile radius
