CVOR Technologist Job in Paducah, Kentucky

You will work as a Surgical Technologist in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) at Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. in Paducah, Kentucky. This is a 93-day travel assignment beginning June 18, 2026, working nights on a 5x8 schedule at $2,440.52 per week.

Your Responsibilities

• Serve as primary scrub person or assistant for operative procedures
• Scrub into surgical cases and ensure instruments and supplies are available and thoroughly sterilized
• Maintain sterile field during case setup and throughout procedures
• Pass instruments and assist physicians as needed during surgical cases
• May assist physician to cut suture material under supervision
• May apply electrocautery to clamps on bleeders under direct surgeon supervision
• Perform instrument, sponge, and sharps counts before and after each case
• Assist with patient draping and positioning in collaboration with the circulating RN
• Work with circulating nurse and orderlies to perform post-case cleaning duties
• Perform gross decontamination of instruments and break down instruments for further cleaning
• Follow all standards for instrument transport and return to Central Sterile Processing
• Notify appropriate leader of any damaged instruments at end of case
• Ensure surgical suite is disinfected and ready for the next procedure
• Check par levels and ensure room is fully stocked for the next case

Requirements

• Complete all mandatory hospital education and maintain HR compliance
• Follow all safe practices in OR and complete age-specific annual assessment competency documents
