Med Surg RN Job in Roswell, NM

You will work as a Registered Nurse on a 36-bed Medical Surgical unit at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center in Roswell, NM. This is a 13-week travel contract with night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, working three 12-hour shifts per week at $2,241 weekly pay.

Unit Overview

The Med Surg unit is high-volume with quick patient turnover. You will manage post-operative orthopedic and general surgery cases alongside general medical patients. The unit requires strong discharge and admission management skills. Patient ratios are typically 1:6, occasionally 1:7 on the 36-bed unit.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on the Med Surg unit
• Float as needed to ICU to manage Med Surg overflow or step-down patients (floating is rare)
• Manage admissions and discharges efficiently
• Document in Cerner EMR and monitor patients on Mindray Telemetry System
• Wear required Royal Blue scrubs

Schedule Details

• Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Three 12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call obligations
• 48-hour guarantees may be accommodated
• Block scheduling may be arranged if it does not require the same days every week
• Maximum one week of time off approved during the contract

Requirements

• Current RN license
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
