Pediatric Respiratory Therapist Job in Indianapolis, IN

You'll provide respiratory care across pediatric units at IU Health Riley Hospital for Children as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. This role offers a 91-day assignment working 3x12-hour night shifts.

Your primary responsibilities:

• Float between NICU and Pediatric Acute Care areas based on facility need
• Manage respiratory support for neonates, infants, and pediatric patients
• Set up and monitor aerosol delivery systems for mask and trach patients
• Operate CPAP, Nasal CPAP, and BiPAP equipment
• Perform endotracheal intubation and extubation
• Manage mechanical ventilation weaning protocols
• Administer inhaled medications including Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Mucomyst, Pulmicort, racemic epinephrine, Xopenex, and Tobramycin
• Provide tracheostomy care and management
• Interpret arterial blood gases and adjust therapy accordingly
• Place and maintain nasal and oral airways
• Operate nitric oxide (iNO) systems

Required qualifications:

• Current Indiana State License (must be in hand at submission)
• NBRC RRT certification
• Minimum 2 years NICU experience
• Children's hospital experience within the last 3 years (Level 1 adult facility experience may be considered)
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Education from CoARC-accredited and CHEA regionally-accredited program
• PALS certification preferred
