Med Surg RN Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week Medical-Surgical contract. You will work 3x12 night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM) with 36 guaranteed hours per week at $2,377.08 weekly.

Role Details

• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• Care for adult patients with respiratory illnesses, stroke, neurological conditions, gastrointestinal illness, diabetic management, renal failure, urinary tract disorders, sepsis, wound care, clotting disorders, infectious disease processes, and acute alcohol withdrawal
• Typical patient ratios: 1:6-7 on nights
• Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation required
• Low census policy allows shifts to be reduced in 4-hour increments; contract is eligible for up to 36 hours of low census unbillable hours
• EPIC charting system
• Scrub colors: any color permitted

Requirements

• Current Wisconsin RN License
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience
• Trauma Level II experience highly preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Associate Degree or Certificate; Bachelor's Degree preferred

You will work independently, manage tasks efficiently, and collaborate effectively with clinical and ancillary staff. The role requires resilience, adaptability to shift changes, and the ability to work well under variable conditions.

Duration: 91 days. Start date: September 14, 2026. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to patient care in a busy medical-surgical setting while maintaining schedule predictability and flexibility.
