Med Surg RN Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment on the Medical-Surgical unit. You will work 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM) with 36 guaranteed hours per week.

Role Overview

You will provide direct patient care on the MAP Unit (Medical and Pediatrics), treating adult patients only. Your patient assignments will include conditions such as respiratory illnesses, stroke, neurological conditions, gastrointestinal illness, diabetic management, renal failure, urinary tract disorders, sepsis, wound care, clotting disorders, infectious disease processes, and acute alcohol withdrawal. Typical patient ratios are 1:6–7 on night shifts.

Schedule and Expectations

• 12-hour night shifts, 3 days per week
• 36 guaranteed hours weekly
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• Contract includes 36 hours of low census unbillable time; unit typically low censuses in 4-hour increments

Requirements

• Current Wisconsin RN License
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Trauma Level II experience highly preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
