RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Every other weekend schedule required
• Must be flexible to facility scheduling - no schedule requests can be requested, approved, or accommodated; no block schedule requests
• No on-call requirements
• Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed, which may include floating to CNA/Tech role
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; first time travelers accepted
• Patient ratios of 6:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Maximum of 7 days of pre-approved time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
• If one or two major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work all holidays; if three major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work two
• 24 orientation hours required
• Treats adolescents, adults, and geriatric patient populations
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Required certifications: BLS; preferred certifications: ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Required skills include: central line blood draw, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, Med/Surg, MS/Tele, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, oxygen tanks, peripheral line care and management, PICC line management, starting and maintaining IVs, telemetry, use of rapid response/code teams, and wound care/wound vac
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
• GA or Compact nursing license required
