Med Surg Oncology RN Job in Augusta, GA

You'll join a 19-bed medical-surgical oncology unit at Piedmont Augusta Hospital as a Registered Nurse on the night shift. This is a 119-day travel assignment beginning October 12, 2026, with weekly pay of $2,543.

Schedule & Expectations

• 4x12 nights
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required; if one or two major holidays fall within your assignment, you work all; if three or more fall within your assignment, you work two
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Floating required within facility and possibly to a nearby campus 3 miles from main campus
• No call requirements
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
• Self-scheduling

Required Experience & Credentials

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; first-time travelers accepted
• Georgia or Compact nursing license required
• BLS certification required
• OCN certification required
• Chemo certifications (ONS/ONCC) required only if performing chemo role
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred

Clinical Skills & Knowledge

• Accessing and managing ports
• Administration of blood and blood products
• Administration of chemotherapy
• Body fluid handling post-chemotherapy
• Central line and implanted line care
• Inpatient oncology nursing
• Monitoring chemotherapy
• Neutropenic precautions

Patient Population & Equipment

• Adults and geriatrics
• Average daily census of 15
• Oncology diagnoses from diagnosis through end-of-life care, hematology diagnoses, DNR/CC patients, oncologic emergencies, and occasional off-service cases
• Special procedures: chemotherapy precautions, morphine drips, Dilaudid drips, CADD pumps, and PCA pumps
• Equipment: CADD, PCA, Sara Steady, and Maxi Sky

Systems & Requirements

• Epic charting system required
• Pyxis experience required
• SBAR documentation required
• Navy blue scrubs
