PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care

Opportunity:

RN - PICU

Job Details:

• Float pool position rotating to various pediatric units including PICU, NICU, Peds Med/Surg, Peds PACU, Peds ED, and Postpartum/Mother Baby
• Day shift schedule
• 36 or 48 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed
• Must have PICU and NICU experience and be comfortable with pediatric patients
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
• Peds PACU experience highly preferred
• Previous NICU/PICU float pool experience preferred
• Must adhere to float pool policy and float within scope of practice as needed
• Patient ratios vary by unit: PICU 1:2, NICU 1:2 (ICU) or 1:3 (ICN), Acute Pediatrics 1:4-1:5, Peds ED variable
• May be required to float to Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby during staffing needs
• Must have Epic experience
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, PALS
• Dr. Browns Infant Driven Feeding Certification required (can submit with certification pending)
• Virginia nursing license required (pending license accepted)
• Travel experience required
• BSN preferred
• Key skills include: ventilator management, ECMO, arterial line management, hemodynamic monitoring, central line care, CRRT, IV vasopressors, high flow nasal cannula, pediatric dosage calculations, and tracheostomy care
