PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care

Opportunity:

RN - PICU

Job Details:

• 13-week contract with night or rotating shift schedule
• Every other holiday required
• 3 weekends per six-week schedule
• Patient ratio of 1:2, with possibility of 1:1 for high acuity patients
• May be required to float to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics based on staffing needs
• Care for combined pediatric cardiac and medical critical care patients including cardiac diagnoses (DORV, TOF, HLHS, Norwood Sano/BT Shunt, TGA, Heart Transplant) and medical diagnoses (TBI, RSV, DKA, Trauma, Seizures, and various post-operative cases)
• Patient age groups include neonates, infants, adolescents, and pediatrics
• Unit maintains high census and high acuity with 25 beds and daily census of 23
• Proficiency required with specialized equipment including ECMO, VADs, and CRRT
• Epic charting system experience required
• 2 years of experience required
• Pediatric cardiac experience a plus
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, PALS
• BSN preferred
• Required skills include arterial line management, central line care, ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, CRRT, continuous sedation, ICP monitoring, IV vasopressors, tracheostomy care, and pediatric dosage calculations among others
