Description
Opportunity:
RN - PICU
Job Details:
• 13-week contract with night or rotating shifts
• Every other holiday required
• 3 weekends per six-week schedule
• Patient ratio of 1:2, or 1:1 for high acuity patients
• May be required to float to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics based on staffing needs
• Care for combined pediatric cardiac and medical critical care patients including diagnoses such as DORV, TOF, HLHS, TGA, heart transplant, TBI, RSV, DKA, trauma, seizures, and post-op cases including ortho, neuro, liver and kidney transplants
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Pediatric cardiac experience is a plus
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• BSN preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, PALS
• Required skills include: End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, accessing/managing ports, administration of blood and blood products, arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, central line care, CRRT, hemodynamic monitoring, ICP monitoring, IV vasopressors, management of chest tubes, pediatric dosage calculations, PICC line management, tracheostomy care, ventilator management, wound assessment/care, and more
• Special equipment experience required: ECMO, VADs, CRRT
• Virginia nursing license required; pending license accepted at time of submission but must be in-hand by the Wednesday before start date
