PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care

Opportunity:

RN - Critical Care Peds Float Pool

Job Details:

• Float pool position rotating across various pediatric units including PICU, NICU, Peds Med/Surg, Peds PACU, Peds ED, and Postpartum/Mother Baby
• Day shift schedule
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• 13-week assignment
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
• Must be comfortable with NICU, Acute Pediatrics, and Pediatric ED
• Previous NICU/PICU float pool experience preferred
• Peds PACU experience highly preferred
• Travel experience required
• Must have Epic charting system experience
• BSN preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, PALS
• Dr. Browns Infant Driven Feeding Certification required (can submit with certification pending)
• Virginia nursing license required (can submit with license pending)
• Patient ratios vary by unit: PICU 1:2, NICU 1:2 (ICU) or 1:3 (ICN), Acute Pediatrics 1:4-1:5, Peds ED variable
• May be required to float to Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby during staffing needs
• Required skills include but are not limited to: arterial line management, ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, ECMO, central line care, CRRT, IV vasopressors, pediatric dosage calculations, and tracheostomy care
• Previous charge experience preferred
• References required
• Maximum 40 hours of RTO per 13-week contract; no RTO approved during first 2 weeks of assignment
