ICU Registered Nurse Job in New Orleans, LA

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in our ICU at Ochsner West Campus, a long-term acute care (LTAC) setting. This is a travel nursing position offering three 12-hour day shifts per week over 84 days, beginning October 26, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,075.

Role and Responsibilities

• Care for adult and geriatric patients in a 35-bed ICU unit with a daily census of 28
• Work with patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6 (1:4 for ventilated patients, 1:5 for tracheostomy and airway patients)
• Manage ventilated, tracheostomy, and wound care patients
• Perform procedures including TPN, wound care, drain management, foley catheter care, narcotic administration, PEG tube care, PICC line management, and IV antibiotics
• Demonstrate proficiency with antiarrhythmics, anticoagulation therapy, blood product administration, central line care, chest tube management, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, ventilation modes, tracheostomy care, weaning protocols, and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and phlebotomy
• Participate in wound care team rounds Monday through Friday

Requirements

• Active RN license
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
• Epic charting system experience
• Current ACLS and BLS (AHA) certifications
• Willingness to cover weekend shifts
• Self-scheduling with block scheduling options available
• LTAC experience preferred but not required; first-time travelers are welcome
• Must be located more than 65 miles from the facility (address verification via driver's license required)
