ICU Registered Nurse Job in Lafayette, LA

Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its Intensive Care Unit. You will work 3x12-hour night shifts with every other weekend coverage required. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 2, 2026, with weekly pay of $2,062.

Role Details

You will care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in a 44-bed unit with a 1:2 patient ratio. You must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. Scrubs are royal blue.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
• Travel experience required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications

Preferred Qualifications

• TNCC (Trauma Nurse Certification) and CPI
• Epic charting system experience
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience

Key Skills and Responsibilities

You will manage arterial lines, ventilators, and central lines; administer continuous IV sedation and blood products; implement IV insulin protocols; titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips; manage CVA and acute stroke cases; operate BiPAP and CPAP equipment; and interpret dysrhythmias and ABGs.

Interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response teams, and social services are available to support your patient care.
