CVICU RN Job in Redding, CA

Mercy Medical Center Redding is seeking a Registered Nurse for its 30-bed Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting September 15, 2026, with weekly pay of $2,203.

Role Overview

You will provide direct patient care in a Level 2 Trauma acute care setting, working exclusively with cardiac ICU patients. Your primary focus will be fresh open heart patients and mixed ICU populations. You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, with every-other-weekend requirements and possible holiday shifts.

Staffing and Support

• Patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2, with approximately 90% of shifts at 1:2
• Charge nurses do not carry patient assignments
• Hospitalist available on-site 24/7
• Respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available around the clock

Unit Details

• GE telemetry monitors and ventilator experience required
• Cerner EMR charting system
• Navy scrubs required

Scheduling and Flexibility

You will participate in self-scheduling with schedules made approximately 6 weeks in advance, subject to manager review. You may be floated to telemetry or med-surg units as needed. The hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for shorter assignments.

Requirements and Certifications

• Valid California nursing license
• ACLS and BLS required
• NIHSS required
• PALS preferred
• Recent experience with fresh open heart patients
• Experience with mixed ICU patients
• GE telemetry monitors and ventilator experience

Testing and Orientation

You must pass a proctored Dysrhythmia Test on-site on day one. One day of unit-specific orientation will be provided. BSN is not required.
