PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• 3x12 night shifts
• Every other weekend required
• Must be able to take a 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio for MedSurg
• Patient ratios: 3 days, 4 nights, 3 weekends
• Float required to ICU or MS
• Minimum 1 year of experience required, 2 years preferred
• Travel experience required
• Must be located more than 75 miles from facility
• New/first time travelers accepted
• NY nursing license required in hand - no exceptions
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Epic charting experience required
• Scrub color: Any combination of navy and white
• Care for adult and geriatric patients in a critical care step-down unit
• Perform cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Utilize Rapid Response/Code teams as needed
• Manage peripheral line care and IV therapy
• Provide respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tanks, and non-invasive airway management
• Manage patients with arterial lines, central lines, and titrated medicated IV infusions
• Provide continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring
• Administer blood products and manage cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Perform wound care and wound vac management
• Maintain isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Previous charge experience preferred
