MRI Technologist Job in Rockford, IL

Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center – Riverside is seeking an MRI Technologist to join our diagnostic imaging team. This is a part-time position working 24 hours per week, scheduled for Mondays and Fridays with 8-hour shifts. You may be required to work flexible hours, alternate shifts, weekends, and on-call as needed to support department operations.

Your Responsibilities:

• Perform MRI procedures and related techniques to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation
• Prepare patients for procedures, provide instruction, and minimize anxiety through effective communication
• Apply magnetic resonance safety principles to protect patients, yourself, and colleagues
• Select and operate MRI systems, surface coils, physiologic gating devices, and associated equipment
• Position patients and equipment to demonstrate the anatomic area of interest while ensuring comfort and safety
• Select appropriate pulse sequences based on established protocols and data acquisition parameters
• Perform venipuncture and maintain venous access for contrast administration
• Verify consent and screening forms using appropriate identifiers and scripting
• Assist physicians with interventional procedures as needed
• Practice aseptic technique and observe universal precautions
• Evaluate images and data for technical quality
• Manipulate and reconstruct digital data using radiology information systems, PACS, and archival systems
• Initiate basic life support when necessary
• Provide instruction to partners and students
• Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited radiography program
• Current ARRT Radiography registration
• Current ARRT MRI registration
• Approved CPR or BLS certification
• Experience as an MRI Technologist

Assignment duration is 91 days, with a start date of October 19, 2026. Weekly pay is $1,780.
