Telemetry RN Job in Des Moines, IA

UnityPoint – Iowa Lutheran Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel contract on their Telemetry unit in Des Moines, IA. You will work the night shift, 3 shifts of 12 hours per week, with no on-call responsibilities.

Role Overview

You will care for medical-surgical and telemetry patients in a 15-bed unit with remote monitoring capabilities. Patient ratios are 4–5:1, and you will manage a variety of med-surg patient types, including those requiring heparin drips. Charge experience is required; preceptor experience is a plus. You may float across both Iowa Methodist Medical Center and Iowa Lutheran campuses as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum 24 months of experience in Med-Surg or Med-Surg Telemetry
• At least one completed travel contract within the past 18 months (no first-time travelers)
• Active Iowa nursing license or compact/multistate license
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• EPIC EMR experience
• Heparin administration experience
• Telemetry and cardiac background highly preferred

Scheduling & Expectations

Weekend availability is required as scheduled. You will be required to work 1–2 of the following holidays unless the unit is closed: Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's. The department prefers RNs willing to extend beyond the initial 13-week contract.

Pay & Duration

Weekly pay is $2,358.72. The contract runs 91 days, beginning November 9, 2026.

Additional Information

Dress code requires navy blue solid scrubs. This role offers the opportunity to work in a stable med-surg telemetry setting with clearly defined responsibilities and no on-call burden.
