Telemetry RN Job in Des Moines, IA

UnityPoint - Iowa Lutheran Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a temporary Telemetry position on a Med-Surg unit in Des Moines, IA. This is a 91-day assignment starting October 26, 2026, with 4x12-hour night shifts at $2,692 weekly pay.

Role Overview

You will provide direct patient care on a 15-bed unit with remote telemetry monitoring. Your patient ratio will be 4–5:1, and you may float across all campuses as needed. The position includes weekend rotation (every other or every third weekend, depending on staffing and census) with no on-call responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Care for medical-surgical patients with telemetry monitoring
• Manage Heparin drips and other cardiac medications
• Monitor and respond to telemetry alerts via remote monitoring tech
• Document in EPIC EMR
• Collaborate with charge nurses and interdisciplinary teams

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (Iowa or compact/multistate)
• Minimum 24 months of Med-Surg or Med-Surg Telemetry experience
• At least one completed travel contract within the past 18 months (first-time travelers not accepted)
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Recent charge nurse or preceptor experience
• Telemetry and cardiac background highly preferred
• Valid driver's license
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility

Additional Requirements

• Navy blue solid scrubs required
• Skills checklist specific to Med-Surg or Med-Surg Telemetry required
• Professional reference from charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
