Telemetry RN Job in Des Moines, IA

You will work as a Registered Nurse on a 15-bed medical surgical telemetry unit at UnityPoint – Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 9, 2026.

Schedule & Compensation

• 4x12 night shifts per week
• Weekend rotation every other or every third weekend, depending on staffing and census
• No on-call responsibilities
• Weekly pay: $3,041.28

Role Details

• Patient ratio of 4–5:1
• Care for medical surgical patients, including those on heparin drips
• Remote telemetry monitoring performed by tele tech unit
• Required to float across all UnityPoint campuses, including Iowa Methodist Medical Center and Iowa Lutheran
• Work 1–2 holidays as required by unit
• Navy blue, solid-color scrubs required

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 24 months of experience in Med Surg or Med Surg Telemetry
• At least one completed travel contract within the previous 18 months (no first-time travelers)
• EPIC EMR experience
• Experience with heparin
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Active Iowa nursing license or compact/multistate license
• Skills checklist specific to Med Surg or Med Surg Telemetry
• Driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

• Telemetry and cardiac background
• Recent charge or preceptor experience
• Professional reference from charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months

You will demonstrate proficiency caring for a variety of medical surgical patient types in a fast-paced environment.
