RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• 3x12 shift schedule
• Weekend coverage required
• Self-scheduling
• 36 orientation hours
• Charge pay available
• First time travelers accepted
• 1.5 years of experience required
• Locals not accepted
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Patient ratios: 1:5 on days, 1:6 on nights
• Care for adult medical patients including those needing dialysis, peritoneal dialysis, stroke, heart failure, delirium/dementia, end of life care, mental health concerns, and substance withdrawal
• Required skills include: blood product administration, central line blood draw, feeding tube care and management, heparin, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), nasal cannula, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, and starting and maintaining IVs
• Special equipment includes: feeding tubes, chest tubes, trachs, and blood administration
• Float required to other Med Surg units and Observation Unit; no floating to other facilities
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
