ICU RN Job in Frankfort, Kentucky

You'll work as a registered nurse in a 10-bed ICU at Frankfort Regional Medical Center. This is a backfill position running 91 days, starting July 27, 2026.

Schedule & Compensation

• Three 12-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend scheduling required
• $1,839.60 weekly pay

Role Details

You'll manage patients with a 2:1 and 3:1 ratio in an active ICU setting. You may float to the progressive care unit (PCU), 3rd floor, or emergency department (ED) as needed.

Required Experience & Credentials

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
• Kentucky or compact nursing license
• BLS, ACLS, and current NIH stroke certification (annual recertification required)

Required Clinical Skills

• CPAP and BiPap management
• Port access
• Therapeutic phlebotomy

Preferred Advanced Skills

• Chest tubes, NG tubes, and wound vacs
• Drain management and post-dialysis assessment
• Central line insertion and maintenance
• Blood transfusions and ventilator management

Unit Operations

The ICU utilizes Philips telemetry monitoring, Baxter pumps, iMobile systems, ventilators, and glucometers. Documentation runs on Meditech Expanse. Key procedures include telemetry monitoring, physician-led paracentesis, BiPap support, and therapeutic phlebotomy. Your team includes clinical nurse coordinators, RNs, patient care technicians, and nurse externs.
