ICU RN Job in Lexington, Kentucky

Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. is seeking an experienced RN for a 12-hour night shift position in our Intensive Care Unit. This is an 89-week travel assignment beginning August 10, 2026, with weekly pay of $3,031.

Position Requirements:

• Current RN license
• Minimum 1–2 years of staff ICU experience required
• Recent acute or critical care travel experience required
• Strong neuro ICU experience preferred
• Current references from leadership (unit manager, coordinator, or director) required

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice
• Consider patient culture, age, and developmental level when designing care actions and interventions
• Identify patient risk factors and presenting complaints
• Collect objective and subjective data and verify initial admission assessments
• Develop and prioritize patient problem lists based on inter-professional team input
• Implement patient care therapies and procedures with clinical autonomy within scope of practice
• Explain procedures, treatments, and processes to patients and families
• Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition appropriately
• Conduct and document ongoing assessments and responses to procedures and therapies
• Delegate tasks appropriately and oversee team members in patient care activities
• Identify and address educational needs of patients based on prioritized problems
• Facilitate patient discharge process including discharge teaching and care coordination
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measures, including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI monitoring
• Promote a positive group dynamic and healing environment through words and actions
