Job Details:

• Work three 12-hour day shifts per week
• Implement professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person, focused on healing and wellness
• Base nursing practice on evidence-based research, hospital and department policies, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines
• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice
• Consider patient culture, age, and developmental level when designing care actions and interventions
• Identify patient risk factors, collect objective and subjective data, and obtain health information from family or others as necessary
• Develop and prioritize patient problem lists based on input from the inter-professional team
• Determine desired outcomes in coordination with patient and family in accordance with the medical plan of care
• Implement patient care therapies and procedures with clinical autonomy within scope of practice
• Explain procedures, treatments, and processes to patients and families
• Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition appropriately
• Conduct and document ongoing assessments and responses to procedures and therapies using the nursing process
• Delegate tasks appropriately and oversee team members in the performance of patient care activities
• Identify and address educational needs of patients related to prioritized problems
• Facilitate patient discharge process including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, patient falls, pressure ulcers, and CAUTIs
• Promote a positive group dynamic and healing environment through words and actions
• Use a holistic perspective regarding patient care
