ICU RN Job in Lexington, KY

Saint Joseph Medical Center - East Lexington is seeking a registered nurse (RN) to join its Medical ICU team. You will work in a 10-bed unit with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio on a 3x12 night shift schedule.

Role Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including telemetry monitoring, ventilator management, and drip titrations
• Titrate cardiac, sedation, and paralytic medications under physician oversight
• Read and interpret your own telemetry strips
• Collaborate with charge nurse, hospitalists, intensivists, respiratory therapy, and monitor technicians available 24/7
• Participate in self-scheduling with management adjustments to maintain balanced coverage

Schedule & Requirements

• Three 12-hour night shifts per week
• 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week period
• Holiday requirements: 2 summer and 3 winter holidays
• No on-call or standby duty
• Floating to the floor may be required
• 1 to 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided

Clinical Skills & Certifications

• Proficiency in telemetry, ventilator management, and drip titrations
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• Experience with EPIC charting system preferred
• Scrub color: Galaxy Blue
