Emergency Department RN Job in St Johnsbury, VT

Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital is seeking an RN for its 24/7 Emergency Department. You will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting with acute illnesses, injuries, and emergencies, working a 3x12 flex schedule for 91 days starting January 13, 2027.

Your Responsibilities:

• Rapidly assess patient needs, prioritize care, and collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, EMS personnel, and inpatient teams
• Manage multiple patient needs simultaneously and adapt quickly to changing clinical situations
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately while adhering to hospital policies and evidence-based emergency nursing practices
• Exercise sound clinical judgment in a rural emergency department environment

Requirements:

• Minimum three years of Emergency Department RN experience
• Current Vermont RN License or Compact Multi-State RN License
• BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications required
• TNCC preferred
• Familiarity with Meditech strongly preferred; must demonstrate ability to learn the system quickly
• Ability to work independently
• Reliable personal transportation required (public transportation and rideshare services are not available in the area)

Schedule Details:

You will work Flex shifts beginning on Wednesday, January 13, 2027. Those on a 48-hour contract will receive 36 guaranteed hours during the orientation week due to the midweek start. Weekly pay is $2,452.
