Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• No on-call requirements
• Holiday requirement: expected to work 2 of 3 major upcoming holidays (Thanksgiving Day/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Years Eve/New Years Day)
• Maximum 7 days of pre-approved time off per contract
• 1 day of orientation provided before taking assignments
• Patient ratio of 5 patients per nurse
• Will float to all Med Surg floors and potentially rehab
• Will float to floors that take stroke patients and peritoneal dialysis patients
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (AHA or ARC only)
• Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics
• Care for patients with diagnoses including CHF exacerbations, respiratory illness, arrhythmias, general surgery, ortho, end of life care, COPD, and sepsis
• Occasional stable open heart surgery patients transferred out of ICU (typically day 4-5 post op)
• Required skills include telemetry monitoring, heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, blood product administration, central line care/management, PICC line management, tracheostomy care/management, wound care/wound vac, and more
• Special equipment includes Artisight Virtual Nurses and Virtual Sitters
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and social services
