Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Oncology

Job Details:

• Day and night shifts available: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday requirement as needed
• No on-call or standby requirement
• 48-hour shifts available with first to float designation
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: Days 1:4-5, Nights 1:5-6
• Care for adult and geriatric patients including strokes, HTN, COPD, cellulitis, CHF, A-fib non RVR, chest pain, MI post-ICU, AMS/behavioral, surgical overflow, and oncology patients
• Oncology experience required as core staff will administer chemotherapy
• Required to titrate drips including Lasix and Heparin
• Experience with trach and BiPAP preferred but not required
• BiPAP stable and established trach patients with blow-by oxygen managed on unit
• Telemetry monitor techs available on unit; RNs not required to read and interpret their own strips
• Charge nurse available on each shift as a resource for both shifts
• Nurse aides and patient care techs available at 1:8 ratio
• May float to other Med Surg units; if floating to tele, a tele RN will handle strips; ER holds occasionally
• No specific scrub color required
• Block scheduling will be considered if unit needs are met
• Charting system: EPIC
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• First-time travelers accepted; minimum 1 year of Med Surg experience preferred
