CVICU RN Job in Tucson, AZ

Northwest Medical Center in Tucson, AZ is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for its Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning August 31, 2026.

Position Overview

You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. The unit is a 15-bed facility with a 2:1 patient ratio. You can expect six weekend shifts per 6-week schedule with no on-call responsibilities. The electronic medical record system is Cerner.

Clinical Responsibilities

Your experience will focus on post-operative cardiovascular patients, including post-CABG cases, STEMI interventions, and vascular procedures. You will manage patients on ventilators and vasoactive drips, and you must be comfortable with cardiac monitoring and hemodynamic support. Floating to other units—including Medical ICU and Progressive Care Unit—is part of your assignment.

Requirements

• Current Arizona nursing license
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 2+ years of nursing experience
• Demonstrated cardiac ICU experience
• Proficiency with mechanical ventilation and vasoactive medications

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with open heart experience, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) expertise, and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) skills will be prioritized.

Compensation and Details

Weekly pay is $2,233.80. Scrub color is flexible—any solid color is acceptable. You will receive travel staffing support throughout your assignment.
