CVICU RN Job in Glendale, AZ

You will provide direct patient care in the Cardiac and Vascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center, located at 5555 W Thunderbird Rd in Glendale, Arizona. This is a 3x12 night shift position with an 89-day contract beginning August 17, 2026. You will earn $2,446.20 per week.

Your Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care for CVICU patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing standards
• Review patient history and physical examination with patients and families, ensuring completion within appropriate timeframes
• Review diagnostic and laboratory data, reporting abnormal results to physicians and relevant caregivers
• Formulate and implement individualized care plans based on patient-specific needs, assessment findings, and medical orders
• Provide direct patient care, coordinate and delegate health care team activities, and supervise team members
• Evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching, revising the care plan as needed
• Document assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluations accurately and timely in patient records
• Participate in shared leadership, staff education, and orientation activities
• Precept and mentor staff when appropriate
• Be available for weekend and holiday rotations, with possible on-call responsibilities and float assignments to support other units

Requirements:

• Current, valid RN license in Arizona
• BLS certification
• Minimum one year experience in an acute care hospital setting, with acute care experience within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the CVICU specialty
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Professional certification preferred
