Certified Surgical Technologist Job in Rochester, NY

Rochester—Unity Hospital is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for its Operating Room. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 2, 2026, working 5x8 evening shifts at $2,100 per week.

About the Role

You will support surgical teams across 13 operating rooms, managing 40–60 cases daily. Your responsibilities include maintaining aseptic technique, ensuring sharps safety, handling and labeling specimens, executing universal protocol (time out) procedures, and managing decontamination and sterilization processes. You must be proficient in laparoscopic-assisted cases, robotic surgery (Da Vinci Xi), and both open and minimally invasive procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Current CST certification (or prior surgical tech work in NY before 2015)
• NBSTSA certification
• Minimum 3 years surgical tech experience
• Prior travel healthcare experience
• Active New York state license at time of application
• Epic charting system experience (required)
• Ability to live more than 75 miles from the facility

Clinical Requirements

You will float across 12 service lines: general OR, bariatric, vascular, ENT, gynecology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, plastics, colorectal, robotic surgery, thoracic, and urology. Call requirements include 6 shifts per 8-week block (including weekends and holidays) and 6 weekend shifts per contract block.
