Certified Surgical Technologist Job in Rochester, NY

Rochester – Unity Hospital is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for a 91-day travel assignment. This is a 4x10 evening shift position offering $2,100 weekly pay.

Role Overview: You will work in a high-volume surgical services environment managing 40–60 cases daily across 13 operating rooms. You will float as needed to support general surgery, vascular, cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, orthopedic, gynecologic, colorectal, and urologic specialties. Your responsibilities include instrument preparation, specimen handling, aseptic technique maintenance, and support for both open and minimally invasive procedures including robotic surgery.

Required Qualifications:

• Current CST certification (or prior OR tech experience in NY before 2015)
• NBSTSA certification
• Minimum 3 years of surgical tech experience required; 3+ years across multiple service lines preferred
• Prior travel healthcare experience
• Epic charting experience (hard requirement)
• Residence more than 75 miles from facility

Assignment Details: On-call commitment includes 6 shifts per 8-week block with weekend and holiday availability. Six weekend shifts per 8-week contract period are required. The facility provides scrubs.

Clinical Skills Required: You must demonstrate competency across a broad surgical range including general, bariatric, vascular, cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, orthopedic, gynecologic, colorectal, urologic, and otolaryngologic procedures. Da Vinci Xi robotic system experience is included. You will apply universal protocol, sharps safety, specimen labeling, and sterilization process knowledge in all cases.
