PCU Registered Nurse Job in Coos Bay, OR

Bay Area Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a temporary float position in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to work across multiple patient care areas while maintaining continuity with our clinical team.

Position Details:

• Schedule: 3x12-hour day shifts
• Duration: 91 days
• Start date: September 22, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,099.52

Responsibilities:

• Float between the Medical Care Unit, Post Surgical Unit, and Intermediate Care Unit/PCU based on patient census and unit needs
• Apply the nursing process to direct patient care within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing
• Educate patients and families regarding their care and treatment plan
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in the medical record
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care
• Respond effectively to patient crises and emergency situations
• Demonstrate flexibility and strong prioritization skills in rapidly changing environments
• Maintain reliable attendance and a professional, helpful attitude across all assigned areas

Qualifications:

• Current Oregon nursing license (does not need to be active at time of application; willingness to obtain is required)
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience
• Hospital experience within the past 5 years required
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• ACLS (AHA) certification required
• Skills checklist must be completed within one year of application
