PCU RN Float Job in Coos Bay, OR

Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay, OR is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a temporary float position in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). You will work the night shift, 3x12 hours per week, starting September 29, 2026, for a 91-day assignment. Weekly pay is $2,229.12.

In this role, you will rotate between the Medical Care Unit, Post Surgical Unit, and Intermediate Care Unit/PCU. Your responsibilities include:

• Applying the nursing process to patient care within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing
• Teaching patients and significant others about their care
• Documenting patient care accurately in the medical record
• Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate overall patient care
• Demonstrating flexibility and the ability to prioritize and adapt to rapidly changing patient and unit needs
• Responding effectively to patient crises and emergency situations
• Maintaining regular, consistent, and punctual attendance
• Demonstrating a friendly and helpful attitude when accepting assignments in varied areas

Requirements:

• Current Oregon nursing license (does not need to be active at time of submission but must be willing to obtain)
• Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg experience
• Recent hospital experience within the past 5 years
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• ACLS (AHA) certification required
• Skills checklist completed within one year of application
