Job Details:

• 3x12 night shift schedule
• Every third weekend required
• Guaranteed 3 shifts per 13-week contract
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Float within scope to meet facility needs, including ICUs and floors
• Epic charting system experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, RRT, ACLS
• Must hold Missouri Respiratory Care Practitioner License
• Scrub color: Medium to dark gray
• Perform airway management including endotracheal tube/suctioning, extubation, nasal airway suctioning, oral airway placement, oropharyngeal suctioning, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy suctioning
• Administer medications including Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Inhaled Flolan, inhaled steroids, Lidocaine, Nitric Oxide, Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, and Xopenex
• Utilize medication delivery systems including aerosol setup mask, aerosol setup trach, and metered dose inhaler
• Operate nebulizers including hand held, T-piece, trach collar, and ultrasonic
• Provide High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) oxygen therapy
• Manage ventilators including BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation; primary vents are PB840s and PB980s
• Perform and interpret Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) results
• Care for and treat patients with acute and chronic respiratory diseases
• Must be comfortable managing mechanically ventilated patients
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
• Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
• May occasionally be asked to precept respiratory therapy students
• Active AARC membership and a bachelor's degree or higher (or actively working toward one) strongly preferred
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off allowed per assignment
