Telemetry RN Job in Portland, ME

You will work as an RN in Telemetry at MMC-P Bramhall Campus in Portland, Maine. This is a 91-day travel contract running from November 1, 2026, with 4x12-hour night shifts. You will earn $2,870 per week with 36 guaranteed hours weekly.

Role Overview

You will provide direct patient care in our medical-surgical telemetry unit. You will monitor patients with respiratory, medical telemetry, and surgical diagnoses, as well as those with sepsis, DKA, altered mental status, failure to thrive, respiratory failure, and acute on chronic medical conditions. Night shift patient ratios are 1:5–6 in med-surg and 3:1 in intermediate care (IMC).

Responsibilities and Expectations

• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips
• Provide tracheostomy care and maintenance
• Operate ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP, and other respiratory equipment
• Manage IV pumps, PCA pumps, epidural pumps, and VAC dressings
• Deliver patient-centered care with strong teamwork and communication
• Float to other med-surg units or IMC levels of care as needed
• Work every other weekend; holidays worked as needed
• No on-call requirements

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• BLS certification
• Minimum 1–2 years of clinical experience
• Experience with tracheostomies and telemetry interpretation
• IMC RNs must have ventilator experience

Workplace Details

The facility uses Epic EMR. Professional scrubs are required; unprofessional clothing and shirts bearing non-hospital logos are not acceptable. You will work with patients on specialty beds, nasal cannula, and non-rebreather masks. Success in this role depends on flexibility, good communication, teamwork, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
