Respiratory Therapist Job in Martinsburg, WV

WVU Berkeley Medical Center is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 2, 2026. You will work 3x12-hour day shifts with weekends and holidays as scheduled on a rotating basis.

Role Overview

You will treat a diverse patient population across multiple settings, including adults, pediatrics, and neonates. Your responsibilities include airway management, mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy administration, resuscitation, postural drainage, chest physiotherapy, and non-invasive ventilation support. You will assess patients, manage ABGs, administer nebulizers and inhalers, and perform EKGs during off-hours (5:00 PM through 7:00 AM and all weekends, excluding the ER).

Clinical Requirements

You must be able to intubate independently for adult patients. Prior Level 2–3 NICU experience with ventilators is required; previous NICU experience is preferred as the facility operates a Level III NICU. Pediatric floor care and adult experience are essential. Treatment load varies and may include multiple floors with treatments or ICU-level care with ventilators and non-invasive ventilation.

Equipment & Systems

You will work with ventilators including Servo U, Hamilton G5, Hamilton T1 Transport Vent, Philips Respironics V60 BiPAP, and AirVo & MaxTech high-flow heated systems. The facility uses EPIC for charting and requires gray scrubs.

Scheduling & Compensation

Every other weekend is required (nights Friday/Saturday/Sunday, days Saturday/Sunday). Every other holiday is required. No on-call responsibilities. Weekly pay is $2,280.96.
