Med Surg RN Job in Alexandria, LA

You will provide routine and complex nursing care on our Medical/Surgical unit at CHRISTUS St Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana. This is a day shift position working 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on a 3x12 schedule, with 36 or 48 hours per week guarantee options available. You will be part of a team maintaining a 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio.

Your responsibilities include:

• Applying the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation—for all assigned patients
• Administering medications and treatments according to established protocols while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
• Documenting patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided in our Epic EMR system
• Addressing the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families
• Assessing patient and family learning needs and providing appropriate education
• Making appropriate assignments and delegating tasks to other care providers as needed
• Floating as needed to support unit operations

Schedule Details: Day shift only with no on-call requirement. Three weekends required per 6-week schedule. Overtime is not billable until after 48 hours per week.

Requirements: Valid RN license in Louisiana or compact license required. BLS certification via AHA required. Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred. One year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.

Unit Culture: You will wear ceil blue scrubs. This position offers the stability of a defined shift with predictable scheduling and the opportunity to build continuity with your patient assignments.

This assignment runs for 91 days beginning September 28, 2026, with weekly pay at $2,312.64.
