Med Surg RN Job in Carlsbad, NM

Carlsbad Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Med Surg. You will work day shift hours from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM on a 3x12 schedule, earning $1,782 weekly. Your assignment begins August 31, 2026.

Role Responsibilities

• Provide general skilled nursing care at the SNF level
• Float within scope of practice and clinical competency to Rehab and Med/Surg units as needed
• Manage a patient ratio of 1:8 across a 14-bed unit
• Respond to on-call assignments with varying schedules; call may be assigned prior to scheduled shift start if census is low
• Wear any color scrubs
• Use the MedHost EMR system

Requirements

• Current RN licensure
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg or related experience; 2+ years preferred
• Ability to float and adapt to patient care demands

• 13-week duration with flexible start date
• Day shift, 3 days per week, 12 hours per shift
• Floating required within your scope and competency
• Call scheduling varies; 48-hour guarantees are not approved
