Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Weekend shifts required as needed
• Holiday shifts required as needed
• No on-call or standby requirements
• Nurse to patient ratio is generally 1:5, with some patient populations at 1:4 (neck dissections, facial reconstructions, epilepsy patients)
• Nurse aide/patient care tech ratio of 1:8
• 35-bed Med Surg unit on Floor 5
• Common diagnoses include orthopedic surgeries (total joints, ankle, knee, hip, shoulder), traumatic fractures, ENT surgeries, facial reconstructions, sepsis, high flow O2 patients, pediatric overflow, and general med surg cases (appendectomies, cholecystectomies, pneumonia, COPD)
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry/monitor data
• High flow and home regimen CPAP and BiPAP equipment used on unit
• Heparin drips administered at set rates; no titration of drips required
• Must have a minimum of 1 year of nursing experience and be willing to learn and ask questions
• Will float to like units on floors 4, 5, 6, and 9 (generally no specialty patients on these floors) and may also float to Meridian Medical Center and Nampa Medical Center MedSurg floors only
• No specific scrub color required as long as scrubs are clean and professional
• 1 day of unit-specific orientation provided
• Charting system: EPIC
• BSN not required
• Required certification: BLS (AHA)
